Barnardo’s Cymru is lobbying to develop services in Wales for young people who are sexually exploited and abused through prostitution. This abuse is a hidden problem but Barnardo’s knows, from their work in other regions, that the extent of the problem is often only realised once services are in place. Barnardo’s Cymru is currently working with agencies to begin to address the issue in Wales and to look at the specialist support structures that need to be put in place.

BBC Wales, in conjunction with Barnardo's Cymru, has produced a film, written & produced by Damian George and directed by Phil Higginson, on the issues of sexual exploitation through prostitution, which will be used in a wide variety of arenas (conferences for professionals, influencing of politicians and decision makers, etc) as part of this lobbying process.
