BAD HAIR DAY: BBC WALES
SERIES: DRAMA
If you want a good old chinwag and a cup of tea, who do you turn to?
A hairdresser, of course! A new series of bittersweet dramas
Bad Hair Day takes viewers into a fictitious Carmarthen hair salon to hear the deepest secrets and juiciest confessions of some of it's more colourful customers.
Written by Damian George from Carmarthen,
Bad Hair Day sprang from a newspaper article which suggested that people use hairdressers as therapy.
“In this insular age, where we don’t know our next door neighbours,
people offload their problems to their hairdresser, and it struck me as
incredible that people did this in such an open environment,” explains Damian,
who researched the idea by hanging around in the back of a local hairdressing salon in Carmarthen.
“I heard the most amazing stuff, the sort of thing you’d never normally hear publicly – it was absolutely gripping." The end result is a series of compelling monologues delivered by some
extraordinarily ordinary characters.
